CRT performs tests on all pipe, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to
ASTM, ANSI, ASME, IAPMO, CSA, ISO & many other standards
CRT Laboratories, Inc. offers a wide variety of pressure testing/analyses for Plastic Pipe and Fittings. CRT Laboratories has the capabilities to perform Hydrostatic Burst and Sustained Pressure tests in accordance with ASTM, AWWA, IAPMO, NSF, and all other applicable standards. CRT stocks four (4) complete pressure tanks to suit almost any need for pressure requirements. Pipe Sizes of up to 16" in diameter can be tested to temperatures up to 200°F, with pressures up to 5,000Psi. We have also added to our extensive list of plumbing tests, AWWA C-900 Pipe testing. With this service, manufacturers can list with IAPMO, CSA and NSF in a more- timely manner.
CRT Laboratories, Inc. offers Elevated Temperature testing up to 230°F, with Cycle Pressures up to 4,000Psi. CRT tests to all applicable standards, and is able to design test equipment to suit any performance requirement (or newly proposed standard). CRT also performs Intermittent Shock Testing on Flexible Water Connectors (plastics, stainless steel, etc.). All equipment is calibrated to NIST (traceable) requirements and digitally controlled during the tests for precise control of all parameters.

CRT Laboratories, Inc. offers ESCR analyses to qualify resins before full production. This service is applied to qualify many unfilled resins on today's market, and is a very good indication if a material is suitable for processing. CRT can perform ESCR Pressure testing (using Nitrogen/Igepal) to evaluate piping materials used for Gas or Cold-water distribution. CRT uses all applicable ASTM, IAPMO, and NSF standards for testing (unless otherwise specified), and can create newly proposed criteria to accommodate testing needs.
CRT Laboratories, Inc. offers Injection Molding of plastic materials ranging from un-filled to filled compounds. CRT maintains complete records of profiles during molding, and can supply those documents to the customer for reference. CRT also offers extrusion (single or twin screw) to evaluate new formulas or to pre-qualify resins. Equipment is fully calibrated and digitally controlled for maximum consistency. CRT can produce small batch compounds used for testing, or used internally for production. CRT has the capabilities of High-or-Low Load Compression & 2-Roll Milling of all plumbing compounds, including ABS, CPVC, PVC, PB, PE, PP, etc.
CRT Laboratories, Inc. has extensive experience in problem solving of failed parts. Depending on the failure mode of the parts, CRT Laboratories will take accurate & economic steps to determine why the parts or raw materials have failed. This information can be presented in litigation and with the aid of qualified CRT staff we can assist your litigation process. CRT Laboratories also has expertise in Injection Molding and Extrusion (Ken Le Jeune), and may offer assistance to current on-the-floor problems, often due to in-proper drying, barrel profiles, mold temps, or improper material(s), etc. By having this experience in the lab, we can further pinpoint problem areas and prevent this occurrence from happening in the future. We encourage strong relationships with suppliers, molders, and compounders in order to solve problems faster and more accurate.
